This is my reading work I had to do for week 4. It is about this island boy that was trying to get a job and suddenly did. Then when he got his first pay-packet, he had to share it around which mad him pretty disappointed because he worked hard for that money and yet it got shared out.

But he had to do it cause it is tradition.

My Compare & Contrast

This is my Compare & Contrast work of the 19 century & the 21 century.

Transportation

(21 century) Now in the 21 century, people use vehicles, bikes, motorbikes and a lot more to go from place to place faster and easier.

(19 century) In the 19 century, people would either walk or drive their carts. But there cart’s were slow and not fast like the cars now.

Communication

(21 century) Now in the 21 century, people use Cellphones and Mobile phone’s.

(19 century) In the 19 century, people would communicate by writing letters and sending telegrams or sometimes by just going to their houses.

Mail

(21 century) Now in the 21 century, people use Digital Online things like Gmail, Hotmail, Facebook and a lot more.

(19 century) In the 19 century, people would write their message on a paper then grab a brick and wrap it around it. After that they would chuck the brick into the persons house. It will either hit there leg of something else.

Clothing

(21 century) Now in the 21 century, people wear Short things like short pants, short t-shirts and cool fashioned clothes. They also wear awesome fashioned shoes.

(19 century) In the 19 century, the ladies wear puffy dresses and the man wear suits, White & black chequered pants, a hat and they walk with a walking stick.

Washing

(21 century) Now in the 21 century, people wash their clothes in washing machines.

(19 century) In the 19 century, people would wash their clothes by using a bucket full of water, grab a scrubbing board, soap and their clothes.

Food

(21 century) Now in the 21 century, people eat a lot of junk food and fast food.

(19 century) In the 19 century, people would eat Healthy food but they were expensive.

Machines

(21 century) Now in the 21 century, people use electric stuff and they also have electricity. They use things like Television, electric screwdriver’s, washing machine’s and a lot more.

(19 century) In the 19 century, people would use radio’s, typing machines, telescopes, time travelling machines and more.

Technology

(21 century) Now in the 21 century for technology, people would use laptop, computers, projectors, computers and more.

The Concert that happened

      Friday and Saturday was coming..... I was so excited because on Saturday a concert was happening for my church. It was happening at the Point England School hall at 6:00 PM. So excited, it was Saturday and the time was 5:00 PM..... It was almost time to get ready and go.

       Me, my little sister, my mum and my dad was going because my other siblings did not want to come just us. Doing my hair, my little sister needed help on her clothes and my mum needed help with her dress. I was getting so tired because I was running back & forth back & forth.

        Finally, we reached our destination (The Pt England Hall). It was full and it was just starting. Patricia (my sister), was going to dance with me for the concert. I was so nervous because their were a lot of people there.

It was almost me and my sister’s turn to dance so we went and changed in the toilet. I looked so lovely & beautiful when i looked in the mirror. Extremely nervous, I couldn’t wait to dance in front of everyone.

Finally it was time for me and my little sister to perform. She was so nervous and scared but I wasn’t well just a little bit nervous. We were performing this dance we did Fiafia and the so was a Tongan song.

Performing, I looked at my little sister and she looked shy and then I looked at the crowd and they were recording us on their cameras. Waiting & waiting, the dance was finally over and we got to change, eat then play.

Some of us walked to the dairy and bought lollies, chips, pie & drinks. We all had a great night and had a lot of fun. It was finally home time so we drove home and went to sleep.

My Fun week in the Holidays

The holiday was AMAZING!!!!!

      I had a cool time in the holidays because on the last week of the holidays, it was a fun week. The places that we were going to was Kelly Tarltons, Clip & Climb, Butterfly Creek, The Movies and Ice Skating. On Monday was when fun week started fun week.

  MONDAY

      The first place we went on fun week was Kelly Tarltons. We all had a lot of fun because we saw a lot of penguins. I couldn't believe that that was the first time my nieces & nephews saw penguins in there whole entire life. We walked past to enter & this man took photos of us. Walking past the moving bridge, we saw the Gentoo penguins, the Adelie penguins, the King penguins & the Emperor penguins.

        We walked past the olden day things that they used to survive in the snow. Suddenly we got to the cafeteria and we stopped and got some things to eat. After that, we took pictures in the shark mouth, at the penguin face, on top of the turtle & in Nemo. After all that we went to the gift shop and bought the pictures we took in the entrance for 10 dollars each. Later on we where out of Kelly Tarltons........ We where all tired and exhausted so we went home.

TUESDAY

         The second place we went to was, Clip & Climb. We had a lot of fun because we climbed for a very long time. I had to put on a harness & a rope so my big sister can pull me up. Scared and nervous, because my sister might let go of the rope or do something to the rope. I climbed all the way to the top, I looked down from above and saw that I was so far from the ground.

          Climbing all the walls, I was suddenly getting use to climbing high. While having my time of fun, my big sister was giggling with my niece (which is 15 year old). My legs got really tired so I took a brake and watched the other people climb. It got late so we left and went to get something to eat.

WEDNESDAY

           The third place we went to was Butterfly Creek. I had so much fun because I saw lots of different butterfly's. did you know that that was the first time that I have seen a lot of butterfly's in one big place?..... Well it true. That was my first time at Butterfly Creek. I saw a lot of butterfly's that I haven't seen before in my life but I think that you have seen them???

            Feeling so happy, I got to touch some butterfly's and they felt so smooth and they looked cute the way they look at people. Every time time I look up and the butterfly's are flying around, it makes me feel so special and happy. I really like the pattern and the colours that are on their wings.

Thursday

            The fourth place we went to was The Movies. We watched Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2. It was funny and the little girls look so adorable but mostly the youngest girl. We ate Popcorn, Lickerish, and drank some Drinks. Later on when the movie was finished, my sister went with my 18 year old niece and watched Fast & Furious 6. We went and watched another movie while waiting for my sister. At home, we ate Carl's Jr, Mc Donald's and Pizza. I really enjoyed eating it because it was so tasty and yum.

             The last place we went to for the fun week was ICE SKATING!!! yea. It was so much fun because I got to laugh at my family when they fall down. Trying and trying, my twin fell when she was skating and also my nieces and nephews. my little little niece (which is 4) she tried but she fell so she used this blue trolley thing to hold on to while she skates. We all had a lot of fun and we really enjoyed it.

My Story about my grandmothers pay day

Today, it is my grandmothers pay day. I enjoy going with her because she buys me things and give me money as well. I really can’t wait to go with her after school.

        Sometimes while i’m with her, my older sister always gets more that me and my little sister. I don’t like it when my older sister does that because when she finishes her food she bought, she asks for some of mine of my little sister

        During our shopping, we laugh and talk about things that are funny. Me my big sister, my little sister and my mother always goes shopping with my grandmother. When I go shopping with her today, I am going to buy me some new earrings to wear.

       Once when my grandfather came shopping with us, we lost him because he thought that they sell bikes at the Pak N Save. It was a bit funny because he thought that but a bit tiring because we had to go through the Pak N Save just to look for him. Then we went to my grandmothers house and saw him sitting down on the chair.

My Will.I.Am Story

Yesterday, a very famous & special person came to my school. He was a person from a band called BLACK EYED PEAS...... It was exciting to see him (which is WILL.I.AM). As he was walking in, everyone started scream and yelling “WILL.I.AM”........ When he was walking to sit down, people were looking at him while the client, assistant or something was taking pictures and videos of us.

          There were 9 different school at my school. There was ST PIUS, TAMAKI PRIMARY, TAMAKI COLLEGE, TAMAKI INTERMEDIATE, GLEN BRAE and other ones that I don’t remember. We said “WELCOME WILL.I.AM” then he said ”TTTHHHAAANNNKKK YYYOOOUUU”.

          While we were sitting down, we were all listening to what he was talking about. What he was talking about, was about his life before he was famous. He said to us that when he was young, he 

grew up in a very poor place at Los Angeles, California which is East La. His mum raised him and his brothers and sisters by herself.......

          He didn't get to meet his dad and his mum didn’t have a job and they had no money. I felt very sad when he told all of us that. He also said that he was born and raised in housing projects which is like state funding. While he was talking, he told us that he came to see us because he was interested in our learning.

          Before he talked, our Pounamu group performed in front of him from FiaFia night..... Then  came up was the senior Hip Hop group from FiaFia too. During the dance, it looked like he was really enjoying the entertainment. After his talk, he showed us an enormous cheque that was for us and it was 100,000 DOLLARS.

        WILL.I.Am, said that he wants to go back to school to learn more about things that we learn about like computers and other things. When he handed over the big cheque, this man called Mr Snedden went and shaked his hand and also said thanks for the money. After that a woman from Hallenstein Brothers came and said a mihi to him in english and then gave him a Green Stone necklace. It was like a rectangle size and it was pretty.

          Later on it was finished and people started leaving to their classes. My teacher said that if we are lucky,WILL.I.AM  might come to our class and see what we are doing. So a few classes later he came with his crew and my Principal Mr Burt. Some of us tried stay calm and over exciting about him. I really liked his boots. As I looked up at him, he was wearing the Green Stone that he got given.

          When he was looking around, our music teacher Miss Muliaumaseali'i was recording them walking around.As he was looking around the class room, he saw that everyone was working hard and focusing on there work to finish it. He was excited when I looked at his face because he was smiling while he was looking. After looking he left and everyone was yelling out”BYE WILL.I.AM” and then he said bye back to us and went.

           I had a great time seeing him at our school.

My Waitangi Day Story

Waitangi Day was amazing and fun day for other people but not for me. Scrumptiously, for my family's Waitangi Day, they had a feed at the Marae. But sadly for me, I stayed at my nanas house just to help them out because I love them with all my heart.

       As I was going to sleep, my lovely big sister came over and told me about what happen at the Marae and 1 of it was about taking her netbook there. Our nieces hogged the netbook as well as our nephews.

      At my grandparents house, my uncle came over and told us about the Tsunami that came on the news. All of the sudden they started talking about things that I didn't know about.
     After all he left, we all had fun and went sleep.
